The Song

Long before Carrie Underwood's song, Jesus Take The Wheel played on the radio, I was following God's lead to study the bible, in search of the true meaning of success for a Christian. As I studied and later wrote about the lives of Moses and Jesus, a central theme was developing, a theme in my writing that God was orchestrating. There was no book name, no chapter titles or chapter divisions, just a bunch of writing that continued to convict me about the real meaning of success.

Through four years of writing, strange as it may sound, I never once considered what the name of the book would be until it was assembled together in an orderly fashion. That's when I began to pray and ask God to give me a name that would exemplify the theme of the book, a name that would clearly depict what I had

come to learn about the meaning of success for a Christian.

There were a few names I was considering, but wasn't really comfortable with any of them. I was praying for about a week and then one early morning, at approximately 3:00AM I woke from a deep sleep with the name of the book clearly on my mind. Jesus Take The Wheel defined so well what I had come to learn about true success; a Christians life must be defined by how passionately they are following Jesus. This only happens when you let go of the wheel of life so to speak, and let Jesus take the wheel!

Now when people ask me if the book has anything to do with the song I tell them, "Carrie Underwood's song tells us that we need to let Jesus take the wheel of our life, my book shows them how".
